Govt Holds Petrol Price Steady, Cuts Diesel by Rs3 per Litre

ISLAMABAD – The federal government has kept petrol prices unchanged while offering a slight reduction in diesel rates for the next two weeks, according to a notification issued Monday.

Petrol will continue to sell at Rs264.61 per litre, providing a measure of stability for motorists who’ve seen frequent price swings in recent months.

High-speed diesel, however, will now cost Rs269.99 per litre after a Rs3 per litre cut, giving some relief to sectors heavily reliant on diesel, including transport and agriculture.

Officials said the move reflects both global oil price trends and local market factors, part of the government’s regular fortnightly price review. The revised rates take effect immediately and will stay in place until the next review in two weeks.
