Mobile Police Services Islamabad’s Facilitation Vans Roll Out Weekly Plan

Islamabad – Residents of the capital will now find it easier to access police and licensing services without visiting government offices. The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has released the weekly schedule for its facilitation vans, which will operate across different parts of the city from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The initiative, launched under the supervision of Chief Traffic Officer (Retd.) Captain Hamzah Humayun, is meant to reduce queues at police stations and bring essential services closer to people’s neighborhoods.

What Services Do the Vans Offer?

The mobile units act as one-window service centers, providing:

  • Learner’s permit issuance
  • Renewal or duplicate driving licences
  • Copies of registered FIRs
  • Police character certificates
  • Registration of tenants and domestic staff
  • Registration services for foreigners
  • Complaint management assistance
  • General police verification

By offering these facilities on the go, the ITP hopes to cut down on unnecessary travel and paperwork for citizens.

Where to Find the Vans This Week

The department has assigned two vans to cover different locations:

Van 1 (GAG-709)

  • Monday: Blue Area (near Savor Foods)
  • Tuesday: I-8 Markaz (beside JS Bank)
  • Wednesday: Islamabad High Court
  • Thursday: B-17 Multi-Gardens Office
  • Friday: Bahria Phase-II (Clock Chowk)
  • Saturday: DHA Phase-V

Van 2 (GAC-656)

  • Monday: Naval Complex, E-8
  • Tuesday: Edopia School, Bani Gala
  • Wednesday: Kalma Chowk, Ghori Town
  • Thursday: Gulzar-e-Madina, Rawat
  • Friday: G-11 Markaz (near Askari Bank)
  • Saturday: Near Golra Darbar

Why It Matters

While police facilitation centers already exist in Islamabad, long waits and traffic often discourage people from visiting. By sending these vans into busy commercial and residential hubs, the ITP is attempting to bridge that gap.

Officials have urged residents to make use of the facility, noting that easier access not only saves time but also strengthens public trust in the police service.
