PTI Announces Full Participation in General Elections

In a meeting held on Monday, the PTI Core Committee reiterated its determination to enter the electoral arena, undeterred by state oppression.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has declared its complete involvement in the upcoming general elections, pledging to advocate for constitutional supremacy, the restoration of democracy, the rule of law, and national development.

Under the guidance of former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan, the party is set to actively participate in both national and provincial assembly elections, regardless of any attempts at coercion or suppression. The PTI plans to field candidates in all constituencies.

The committee expressed its admiration for Chairman Imran Khan, recognizing his unparalleled courage, resilience, and determination. Despite his nearly 100-day unjust incarceration and being a target of the state’s vindictive pursuits, Imran Khan continues to embody the struggle, resistance, maturity, determination, and perseverance in the pursuit of genuine liberation for the nation.

Members of the committee lauded Imran Khan’s bravery and unwavering commitment to the nation’s true freedom, which serves as an inspiration to the 240 million Pakistanis.

Drawing a distinction between the PTI and the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties, the committee asserted that the latter came to power to protect their ill-gotten gains, including their plundered wealth and personal interests. However, the committee emphasized that the people of Pakistan have rejected the politics of begging, apologies, and National Reconciliation Ordinances.

The PTI Core Committee pointed out that the state has unlawfully detained Imran Khan, the most popular leader of Pakistan, and condemned the violent state crackdowns on PTI leaders and workers, as well as the unlawful measures hindering peaceful political activities of the PTI before the elections. The committee stated that the people of Pakistan, with the power of their votes, will overcome ongoing tyranny and its agents.

It vehemently criticized the state’s interference, electoral imbalances, and rigged elections and called on the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to protect its reputation from the stain of rigging.

Additionally, the committee approved the release of a white paper prepared by the PTI’s economic team, detailing the economic challenges faced during the tenure of the previous Pakistan Democratic Movement and the current caretaker government.
