Solving the “Part Two” Problem

Until now, creators often had to end a Reel with a message like “follow for part two,” leaving viewers to hunt through profiles or feeds for the next installment. The new series option removes that friction by linking videos together in order. A dedicated button will appear on the Reel, allowing viewers to jump seamlessly between connected clips.

The feature isn’t entirely new to short-form video platforms—TikTok already offers something similar—but Instagram’s approach is geared toward improving navigation and keeping audiences hooked inside the app. For creators, it means better watch-through rates and a higher chance of turning casual viewers into regular followers.

Adding a Reel to a series is straightforward: creators can link clips while writing captions or retroactively through the menu on older posts. Once grouped, the new navigation button appears at the bottom left of the Reel, signaling to viewers that there’s more to watch.
