Pakistan and Kashmir Mark 76th Anniversary of Indian Troops’ Arrival in Kashmir

The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing organized an event to observe Kashmir Black Day, commemorating the events of October 27, 1947, when India took control of Jammu and Kashmir. Chinese scholar Qian Feng also spoke at the event. Special messages from Pakistani leaders were read, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmir cause.

Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi expressed that the Kashmiri freedom movement, driven by the right to self-determination promised by the United Nations, cannot be crushed. He noted that despite increasing repression, the desire for freedom has intensified among Kashmiris.

Solangi lamented the silence of global champions of human rights and democracy regarding the Kashmiri genocide at the hands of Indian occupation forces.

Across the country, various activities such as public rallies, seminars, webinars, panel discussions, and photo exhibitions were organized to mark the ‘Black Day.’ Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora actively participated in these events.

A ‘Protest Walk’ took place from the Foreign Office to ‘D-Chowk’ on Constitution Avenue in Islamabad, led by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi. It involved officers and staff members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The government and people of Pakistan, along with the Kashmiri population, observed the 76th anniversary of the Indian troops’ landing in Jammu and Kashmir as a ‘Black Day.’ Pakistani leaders reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Kashmir Cause and called for the reversal of India’s actions in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In their special messages, the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister reiterated Pakistan’s moral, diplomatic, and political backing for the Kashmir Cause. They emphasized the need to reverse India’s actions of August 5, 2019, which aimed to change the demographic and political landscape of IIOJK.

The Foreign Minister sent letters to various international organizations, including the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, UN Secretary General, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and OIC Secretary General, to inform them of the situation in IIOJK. The letters called for the implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions and urged India to release political prisoners, including Yasin Malik.

The Foreign Secretary briefed Islamabad-based diplomatic missions on the legal, security, and human rights aspects of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

The Embassy arranged a photo exhibition depicting Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
