At a recent conference, developer and politician Abdul Aleem Khan, spoke about the construction of protective flood infrastructure alongside measures that would rebuild the confidence of the residents.
Transforms the flood protective barrier from a simple wall to a multifunctional urban space
The plan includes constructing a 30-foot tall protective barrier near the river bank that would be the centerpiece of the plan. Construction is to start right away with a target of completing the construction in 100 days. Although its main objective is flood mitigation, the structure is being projected as multifunctional. It would have space for:
- Jogging
- Landscaped areas
- Controlled entrances and exits
- Supervision for security
These offer as a defense and recreation blend, gives the residents a reason to appreciate the structure, instead of being a constant reminder of devastation.
1 billion relief package in exchange for loss of properties in the flood was also announced by mr khan. The payments would be able to be processed as the damage claim evaluations would be confirmed and the residents were encouraged to claim the losses as a test of accountability.
Upgrading Performancce on Power Supply
Along with flood barriers, Park View should finally get its own LESCO grid station, which should help alleviate chronic power outages. For a neighborhood that already has a disaster on its hands, dependable power can help a lot with preserving daily routines.
Commitment And Strong Remarks
Khan has a personal stake in the project because his parents are buried in Park View. At the same time, he has slammed social media personalities whom he said benefitted from visibility in times of crisis.
When asked about the society’s demise, Khan the answer with a sharp reference to a Punjabi film, suggesting that he would keep going regardless of what others thought.
Going Beyond Just Recovery
Khan thanked the dhobi community alongside his team for their efforts in the emergency response, explaining that Park View’s recovery will be accompanied by a focus on resilience. The pledge was straightforward: the society will rebuild and sufficiently prepare itself to face stronger disasters from the collective will of the people.
