US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome met with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif to discuss various issues, including the upcoming general elections and the country’s troubled economy.
Nawaz Sharif emphasized the importance of Pakistan’s relations with the United States, recalling past interactions with US leaders that acknowledged the significance of the bilateral ties. During the meeting, Sharif shared his views on Pakistan’s political and economic situation, particularly in the context of his party’s preparations for the upcoming elections.
Expressing confidence in the PML-N, Sharif believed that the people of Pakistan would trust his party to address the country’s current challenges. The leaders discussed enduring bilateral ties, emphasizing the importance of a steadfast and sturdy partnership between Pakistan and the US.

Sharif raised concerns about the plight of innocent Palestinians facing Israeli bombardment and siege in Gaza, calling for an immediate end to hostilities and urgent humanitarian assistance. The US Ambassador shared American priorities with Sharif and thanked him for the frank and cordial exchange of views during the meeting.
